
Workready Asia P/L and EDUK8U TVET School Asia P/L jointly have proposed fully managed early childhood staffing services to a prominent organisation that provides multiple locations of early childhood care facilities across an area covering approximately 50 square kilometres and over 160,000 localised population.

ROLE STATEMENT
The primary purpose of the role:
● Provide innovative and quality early education and care programs in line with the National Quality Framework that reflects the children and families in the service.
● The role is responsible for ensuring a responsive service that is committed to inclusive practices that support families, cultural, socio-economic and individual situations.
POSITION SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Accountabilities
Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:
● Promote and support inclusive practice to ensure that the service can support families from a range of cultures, backgrounds, experiences and situations.
● Develop and maintain effective and respectful relationships with children, families, Early Childhood Professions and Regulatory Departments, and ensure privacy and confidentiality is maintained.
● Provide physical care of children and respond to their emotional needs to maintain trust, develop nurturing relationships, guide positive relationships and ensure the dignity and rights of each child are maintained.
● Develop, plan and implement a quality educational program reflective of the National Learning Framework in consultation with children, families and the Educational Leader / Director.
● Evaluate programs and engage in reflective practice to meet the National Quality Framework, Service philosophy and objectives.
● Implement strategies to maintain the overall cleanliness, tidiness, security and safety of the Service and supervision of flexible and simulating learning environments.
● Maintain confidential and accurate updated records of children and families to meet legislative and regulatory requirements.
● Undertaking mandatory reporting to adhere to Child Protection guidelines and responsibilities.
● Actively contribute to the review of policies and procedures to maintain regulatory compliance.
● Promote the organisation’s positive and collaborative culture and values through open, fair and transparent decision making and ethical, professional behaviour.
● Work in collaboration with and assist the team, manager, and other key stakeholders in achieving business unit goals, work requests, demands, and business priorities.
Key Challenges
● Identifying and resolving arising issues and providing responses in a timely manner to maintain positive and cooperative Service relationships.
● Integrating Workready Asia’s aims, objectives and philosophy into Early Childhood operations, planning and decision-making.
● Dealing with issues in a manner that maintains respect, confidentiality and discretion.
● Balancing unexpected situations, competing service demands and providing a responsive service with the need to adhere to legislative and regulatory requirements.
Quality / Safety and Risk Management
● Demonstrated commitment to best practice.
● Understand the importance of consumer safety, clinical risk management and consumer participation within our organisation.
● Follow organisational safety, quality, risk management guidelines and relevant legislation.
● Take responsibility for organisation practice and, when appropriate, share responsibility for creating and maintaining systems that provide a safe working environment and high-quality care.
● Escalate safety, quality, and risk concerns to the appropriate staff member – if unable to rectify yourself.
● Promote and participate in quality improvement activities to improve consumer outcomes and maintain accreditation standards.
● Comply with principles of consumer-directed care.
● Comply with requirements of relevant regulatory requirements.
Integrity
● Workready Asia’s values and expected behaviours support ethical and responsible decision-making and a culture where all staff behave with integrity and respond appropriately if behaviour (at any level within an organisation) falls short of expectations.
● Workready Asia’s disclosure and reporting processes provide confidentiality, utilise effective investigation and escalation mechanisms and include a range of actions to address fraudulent, corrupt or other unacceptable employee behaviours.
● If Workready Asia suspects unethical, fraudulent or corrupt behaviour, it is imperative to report that behaviour. Sometimes, this behaviour is managed internally, but if it meets the mandatory minimum requirements, the CEO, as the principal officer at Workready Asia, has a statutory obligation to report material issues to the Independent Broad-based Anticorruption Commission (IBAC).
● Reports can be made directly to the CEO or the Board depending upon the level of the organisation where the suspected behaviour occurs.
Other Requirements
● Ensure compliance with relevant Workready Asia organisation, safety, HR and administrative policies and guidelines.
● Protect confidential information from unauthorised disclosure. Do not use, disclose or copy confidential information except for the purpose of and to the extent necessary to perform Workready Asia duties for Workready Asia.
● Comply with relevant privacy legislation.
KEY CRITERIA
● Either certificate 3 or 4 Workready Asia qualified, or willing to work towards certificate 4 in first year of employment.
● Demonstrated Early Childhood Educator knowledge and skills commensurate with experience.
● Knowledge of the National Safety & Quality Standards and ability to support these.
● Knowledge of the Australian Early Childhood Education operating model and the ability to document accordingly and as required.
● Demonstrated organisational skills, particularly for time management.
● Demonstrated ability to contribute and practice collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
● Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with consumers, visitors and employees at all organisational levels.
● Demonstrated ability to use Information Technology.
● A current National Police Check or ability to obtain a satisfactory check.
● Able to gain a current NSW Working with Children Check.
● Evidence of Recent Annual Influenza Immunisation
● Evidence of full immunisation against COVID-19
